About Kurt Valenta

Valenta started his advertising career as a designer at Bradley Brown Design Group in Pittsburgh working on accounts like The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, PPG and numerous colleges and universities.

He then opened his own graphic design business that was a Pittsburgh staple for twelve years. The boutique design group of ten worked on major accounts such as Mellon Bank, University of Pittsburgh, Delta, US Airways, FiServ and ALCOA.

He later moved onto Brunner. Over the next eight years, he rose from Senior Art Director to  Creative Director of Design — managing a staff of talented art directors and writers. While at Brunner he worked on national 360 accounts like Cub Cadet, Bob Evans Restaurants, The Atlanta Bread Co., Zippo, National City and The Pittsburgh Penguins. Along with winning numerous awards in his role as creative director, Valenta's hands-on creative work also earned local, regional and national awards for CONSOL Energy, Pittsburgh Corning, WesBanco and Philips Respironics.

Following his wife's career advancement in the insurance industry the couple relocated to Ohio in 2014. While settling in and working freelance, a full-time art director opportunity at Marcus Thomas LLC in Cleveland was achieved. He joined the B2B team. There he worked on 360 accounts for TimkenSteel, Swagelock, Sherwin-Williams, GE Lighting, Bendix and Troy-Bilt.

Within two years at Marcus Thomas, Valenta was recruited to Advance Ohio as their Creative Director. Advance Ohio is the marketing arm for cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer, it also is a subsidiary of media giant Advance Local — owners of Conde Nast, Wired, Reddit and Vanity Fair. At Advance he bolstered the auto group sales team by significantly increasing revenue through Website creative direction and design. Along with managing designers in Cleveland, Ann Arbor and Grand Rapids, MI, he is responsible for digital campaign concepting for many local and national accounts like John Carroll University, Peter & Co. Jewelers,  Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland Clinic and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Valenta is also an avid DIY enthusiast and American folk art painter. He lives in Stow with his wife and their three free-loading pets; Tiger, Molly and Norman.
